This week we have our line-up about dinosaurs.  All of the following images you see were taken on our class trip to the American Museum of Natural History. 

This is a replica of the dinosaur called

Brachiosaurus.  As you can see, we only captured part of the dinosaur.  If this dinosaur was alive today it would be the equivalent of two yellow school buses.

Here we have a

Triceratops.  The name
Triceratops means "three horned face" and gave away to its characteristics.  It used its horns to protect itself from its predators.  

This is another one of my favorite dinosaurs which is the stegasaurus.  It's name means "roof-lizard."  It has a distinctive and unusual posture along with its heavily armored back.  It has been theorized that the Stegosaurus has a "second brain" on its tail which controlled reflexes and protected itself from its predators.

Lastly, this is an actual fossil of a Tyrannosaurus Rex's head.  It's head is approximately five feet long.  It is the largest meat eating dinosaur.  Its name means "tyrant lizard."  It can weigh up to 5400 kilograms.  Here is a replica of a Tyrannosaurus Rex devouring another dinosaur.
